Brian E. Micek has worked as a public affairs and communications advisor to the
California Department of Health Services, the University of California Davis,
Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, Allstate, the Sacramento River Cats,
Northrop Grumman, Hitachi, and others.
He is an alumnus of the prestigious CSUS Executive Fellowship Program, holding a
joint political and academic appointment with CSUS and the Office of Governor
Gray Davis in 1999, where he organized a series of stakeholder conferences for
the state's Department of Motor Vehicles and played an integral role in the
creation of California's first e-service initiative—the DMV's internet vehicle
registration renewal program.
His experience in Yolo County includes working for
UC Davis as an advisor on the controversial application to the NIH for a Bio-safety
Level 4 laboratory. His efforts bridged organizational gaps between specific target
audiences and led to the founding of a supportive grassroots network comprised of
students, staff members, alumni and community leaders.
Prior to running his own
consultancy, Mr. Micek worked in the Sacramento and Los Angeles offices of
Hill & Knowlton, a global public relations and public affairs agency.
Mr. Micek
resides in West Sacramento and is active in the Cal Aggie Alumni Association.
